The editorial team would like to make special mention of Bridget Kool who was awarded Best Oral Presentation Award for unintentional injury at the World Conference on IP in Mexico. A wonderful achievement at an international level. Well done Bridget!

  Bridget Kool Receives Recognition in Mexico  
  Bridget recently attended the 9th World Injury Conference in Merida, Mexico, where she received the award for the best oral presentation (Unintentional Injury Stream) for her presentation outlining the alcohol findings from her falls research

  Is an internationally recognised road assessment programme that rates 172 stretches of state highway according to crash risk so that drivers can adjust their driving to suit the conditions.

  NZIPS Secretariat  
  Megan Bly has returned to the NZIPS Secretariat from her secondment as Private Secretary to the Minister for ACC. Megan is working in a split role undertaking work for both NZIPS and the ACC Policy team.

Greg Gillard has recently been appointed as Injury Prevention Consultant in
Tauranga. Greg joined ACC as a Case Manager and previously trained at Waikato University as a physical education and economics teacher. He is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Occupational Safety and Health.

Kirsty McInness has been appointed as an Injury Management Consultant in the Hawkes Bay branch.

Shona Henderson from Rehabilitation Services is to join the Falls and Intentional Injury Team. Shona will join the older adults falls portfolio and commenced her new role on 25 March.

Sheryll Javier has just commenced as a Team Administrator at the Injury Prevention office in Lower Hutt. Sheryll previously worked in a consulting company in Singapore as a Marketing Executive.

Gary Rainey has been appointed as Injury Prevention Consultant in Palmerston North. Gary has a Batchelor of Social Sciences / Psychology from Waikato and a Certificate in Leisure and Sport.

Pip Edwards from Tauranga has been appointed as the new Safety and Wellbeing Manager, working from the Tauranga office.

Peter Oxley has been appointed Injury Prevention Consultant in Auckland/Henderson. Peter was previously an ACC case manager.

Jennifer Venimore has replaced Anna Hayward as Injury Prevention Consultant in Auckland.

Robyn Begley has been appointed Executive Officer in the new Serious Injury Unit.
